Research area

Alice's research focuses on determining the redox state of the early Earth through high-pressure, high temperature mineral physics experiments. By integrating synchrotron-based X-ray attenuation, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and high-pressure X-ray absorption techniques, with synthesis glass techniques at ETH Labs, she investigates the density and oxidation state of iron (Fe) in silicate glasses. Her work seeks to shed light on the evolution of the Earth's magma ocean and atmosphere
